Polar Express Pajama Party

This Monday, December 21st, we will evoke the mood of Chris Van Alsburg's Polar Express by reading the story to the first grade as they sip on hot chocolate in their pajamas.  Please have your child bring their pajamas into school to change into (they will need their street clothes for outside recess).  We will serve the children hot chocolate and cookies made in the cafeteria.  (If your child has food issues and cannot have the chocolate chip cookies or hot chocolate made by our cafeteria staff, please feel free to send a special treat in for them to have at this time).

Room 111's Hour Of Code

Mr. Scherston came into our class on Friday to teach the class how to "code."  We downloaded the Lightbot app onto our iPads and Mr. Scherston explained to the class how to move the robot around with their pre-programmed commands.  By programming their robot to move or hop forward, left or right, the children learned how to think ahead and then reprogram their robot based on their "mistakes."  They had a great time and will continue to work on coding using the Lightbot app throughout the year.
