Polar Express PJ Party and Holiday Learning

Happy Holidays To All!
Wishing you and your families the happiest of holidays and a very happy new year!  Below is some news on how we have been spending our week!

POLAR EXPRESS FUN
Below are some pictures from our annual Polar Express Pajama Party.  It was great fun for everyone!  Mrs. Jefferson read the classic The Polar Express in front of the "green screen" to the entire first grade which made it look as if she was in the story!

We then drank hot chocolate and ate cookies to evoke the mood of the story.

Learning About All of the Holidays!
All week long, we have been going into a different classroom to learn about a different holiday!  Here are some pictures of the activities that went along with each holiday!

We learned about Diwali and made diyas and rangoli designs.

We learned about Christmas and made Christmas trees:

We learned about Eid and made the phases of the moon with glow in the dark paint:

We learned about St. Lucia Day and made crowns with candles to wear on our heads:

We learned about Hanukkah and made paper Menorahs and played dreidel!

Here are some pictures from our all-school SOARS assembly which focused on Acts of Kindness:
